The Fun Has Arrived!!

Baby Cakes is here!

We weren't expecting her for at least a few more days but we are so glad that she arrived.

I had gotten myself all worked up about her arrival. The delivery. Mom of two. My self confidence. Are we ready? So much doubt and concern. It seemed that it was everywhere I looked.

Looking back, it's all going to be just fine. Sure being a Mom of two will have it challenges. I still have a lot to learn but as my kids grow I will grow too. I'll be fine!

I was more nervous about this delivery because I already knew what could lay ahead of us. Bees delivery was long, going on forever then going turbo speed. I expected something similar and didn't think I was up for it.

Truth be told. I wasn't.

Baby Cakes was such a different experience. Thank goodness!

My water broke (aka leaked) the night before she was born. No contractions so we just stayed home then 2:00 in the morning they hit. Unlike with Bee they were similar intensities at a steady interval (40 seconds every 2 or 3 minutes). We called my fabulous mother in law to come and stay with Bee. The contractions just stayed the same so we thought it was best to head to the hospital.

We arrived at the hospital around 4 and delivered Baby Cakes at 8:20. Pretty good if you ask me. Everything went so smoothly. At the end, when it was time to push I definitely found myself resisting this huge change. I know, I know. "Lindsey that's not logical." It's just what happened. Even with me fighting against myself I pushed for less than 10 minutes. When my babies are ready to come they are ready to come!

She was perfect! As soon as I held her I knew that everything was going to be fine. Heavenly Father has a plan for me and this little girl is apart of it. I can't be who I am needed to be without her, nor she without me. Our family needs her. That realization has been a huge blessing. I am so relieved and refreshed. I know many challenges are ahead but I can and will rise to any challenge placed before me and my family.

Anyways here's what you have been waiting for.

Pictures!!

Baby Cakes arrived weighing in at 7lbs 1oz. Her length is 19 3/4 inches.

She's pretty much the cutest ever!! She has dark brown hair that is a little wavy. You can see how dark it is in the last picture.

She loves to sleep but I think she might have her days and nights mixed up..... Hopefully not that will be a sucky couple of months if so. I'll know more after a couple nights.

loves to hold fingers. Gosh she looks small but she weighs more than a lbs than Bee did when he was born.

Bee loves Baby Cakes! He likes to point to her toes, fingers and nose. I'm not sure if he's figured out that she's staying forever yet but he likes her. He was holding her, in the pic above, and then gave her a kiss. Oh my, it melted my heart.

When I became a mom with Bee I loved Jason even more. He just became so much more amazing and with Baby Cakes it happened all over again. He is amazing and I am blest to have him. I love Bee even more now too, it's quite similar. He has grown up so much in the last day. He isn't my baby anymore.... Kinda sad but I'm glad to have Baby Cake here. He is going to be a wonderful brother. I hope that they get along and become great friends. Time will tell.

39 Weeks!!

Baby cakes could be here anytime.
ANYTIME!!!
I'm kinda freaking out about this.

Don't get me wrong I'm excited to meet my little girl but two kids. That's intimidating.

I'm not sure why but making the change from one kid to two seems like a much bigger transition than having our first child. I only had to focus on one set of adorable eyes, one personality to try and interpret. Ahhh!

Good thing I have some amazing people in my life to tell me that I can do it and not to worry.

This video is kinda how I've been feeling. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!!

37 Weeks

Here we are at 37 weeks!!

Often I get told how small I am then when I turn sideways or actually show my shape people are surprised. I feel massive but I am lucky to not look pregnant from behind. I am ALL baby!!

Pregnancy is not my friend, it's a good thing Bee is so helpful. He plays so well by himself or he often brings toys to where ever I am so we can play together. He is so precious. I can't wait to see how he grows and changes when Baby Cakes arrives.

Bee hasn't started talking very often yet but he does love signing. When we are out and about he is always looking for babies and signing "baby." He also points to my belly and signs baby. I'm not sure if he completely understands but he is doing great for only being 18 months old.

Cakes is much more feisty than I remember Bee being. She is always moving and kicking. I swear she is going to come out my side. Her little feet are always sticking out. I can watch her wiggle all over the place. It is such an odd and wonderful experience.

All of her wiggling makes me wonder how similar she will be to Bee. I know that siblings are all very very different and I can't wait to see their similarities and differences. It's going to be a wonderful adventure. Hopefully I don't have to wait too long before I get to meet her.

Gardening

My absolutely wonderful mom is helping me get my garden started this year.

For some reason I wasn't getting it done. My guess is that it's because I am massively pregnant and awkward. Pretty much useless at this point.... But that's just a guess.

Bee was so helpful. Digging around, playing in the dirt and finding all the worms and bugs.

They even took a break to swing!

These two really like each other and I am eternally blest to have them both in my life.

Now hopefully this baby comes soon because I am not weeding until this bump is no longer! We are currently getting a ton of rain so the weeds haven't taken over but once the sun comes we might be in serious trouble.
