Bee's blessing day

Oh what a day. It really was exciting to finally have him blessed.

Being a member of the church of Latter Day Saints we bless our babies. We do this for a couple of reasons. One being to give them a name, one that will be on church records and that they will take with them. They also receive a special blessing to help them with their life. My feelings on Sunday were that his blessing was for our family. We are new to the whole parenting thing and sometimes I get discouraged... What if I mess up? Will I teach him what he needs to know so he will be the man he is meant to become? His blessing shared what some of his strengths are. I know that I am far from perfect but I know more now in regards to want I/we can help him with.

Church was wonderful. We had a lot of support from family and friends. We almost took up the whole middle section of pews. There was 48 people. We are loved, most definitely. It also helps that both Jason and I have large families.

Cousins!! They are less than a month apart.
After church we went to our place for dinner. Beef on a bun and it was delicious! I made a lot more than we needed as only half the people I thought were coming over came. Good thing is that it is a meal that freezes well. We were able to give some to friends and even the missionaries.

It turned out so great I will even give you the recipe. Let me know if you give it a try. I would love to hear your stories.

Pulled Beef (4-5 pd roast)
1 1/2 cup Ketchup
1 pkg onion soup mix
1 tbsp chili powder
3 tbsp vinegar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp dry mustard or 6 tsp mustard
1 tsp garlic

Mix together, it will be a thick mixture. Pour mixture on top of the roast until completely covered.

Cook at 250 - 275 for 2 - 4 hours.
Pulled: Cook longer. Pull meat apart then saturate in mix for another hour.
Sliced: Cook shorter. Slice then saturate in mix for another hour.

Crock pot: I just put in on low overnight. Perfect for pulling but if you want sliced that is too long it just falls apart.

We also got some pictures done by one of our friends. She did a wonderful job! I love how they turned out.
